Hemp for Hair Growth
(The study below about Hemp is between 10 separate patients with atopic dermatitis)
Out of two main cannabis plants, sativa is the best for hair growth. More specifically hemp is
AMAZING. Hemp is deprived only from the sativa family and is non-psychoactive. It is grown mainly for industrial purposes but is not limited to them. Hemp products have tons of benefits for your hair and hair growth as well.
Moisturizes the Scalp and Hair: Hemp oil is known for its moisturizing properties. It injects moisture into the hair and scalp while creating a barrier to reduce water loss. It is also easily absorbed so it doesn't leave behind a sticky residue like some other hair products.
Stimulates Hair Growth: Hemp oil is rich in omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids all of which can be beneficial in stimulating growth. It also supplies a protein which makes up 90% of hair follicles to promote growth and improve blood circulation in the scalp and ensuring hair follicles are nourished.
Strengthens Hair: The moisturizer hemp supplies help strengthen hair making it less prone to breakage. It also helps hair keep its natural texture and makes the scalp livelier and better able to support hair.
CBD and Hair
(Studies below are conducted from the National Center for biotechnology information or NCBI)
I think we all know the benefits that CBD brings to our body regarding the (ECS). From anxiety to even slowing certain specific cell growth it's awesome, New research is being conducted to see if CBD is beneficial in prolonged instances with hair growth. Here's what we know for a fact about CBD in the hair growth category.
Supplies Protein: CBD holds all 21 known amino acids which are the building blocks of proteins. Its high amino acid content allows hair to build up collagen and elastin, both of which are essential to hair growth. It also strengthens hair, making it less likely to break, and helps the hair look thicker and fuller. One amino acid in CBD tyrosine even helps to keep hair color.
High in Antioxidants: CBD is also rich in antioxidants like vitamin A, C, and E. These vitamins protect us from pollution induced free radicals. When it comes to hair, they help shield it from environmental damage like dryness and frizz.
High in Fatty Acids: Like hemp. CBD is rich and Omega 3, 6, and 9, so it keeps hair hydrated and protects against moisture loss. This keeps hair strong, reduces the likelihood of breakage, and can reduce hair from greying!
Improves Scalp Health: CBD regenerative nature supplies many benefits for the scalp. It promotes good blood circulation and helps keep the scalp moisturized, which helps keep dandruff and dry or irritated hair follicles at bay.
CBD and THC 1:1 Strains that Help Prevent Hair Loss.
The CBD aspect of cannabis should do most of the work to try and prevent hair loss. If you don't want or like just straight CBD capsules, oils, edibles, vapes, or just straight flower by itself then there are other alternatives. They're a plethora of 1:1 strains out there. That not only has the CBD you're looking for but the THC effect as well mixed with them. Here is a list of examples below.
Critical Mass: This strain will take you from euphoria to sleeping. It is a hybrid of the
Skunk #1 and other Afghan strains. The level of CBD ranges between 5% and 22%. THC
content can rise to 22%. Afer consuming the first thing you feel is euphoria before sleep
takes over. Suitable for people who want to spend their day indoors. Specific terpene
properties include Caryophyllene, Humulene, Limonene, Myrcene, Pinene, Terpinolene,
and Linalool.
Ringo's Gift: The main dominant compound on Ringo's Gift is Sativa with THC and
CBD levels hitting 1% and 20% respectively. The distribution of the two compounds
makes it a suitable choice to control hair loss. Ringo's Gift has a mint taste and an earthy
flavor. Get the rush of happiness and start to become active and social. Specific terpene
properties include myrcene.
Sour Tsunami: The Sour Tsunami is the first stable CBD rich Sativa strain. Sour
Tsunami does not give the level of highness you would expect from other strains. Using
Sour Tsunami for the treatment of epilepsy and anxiety (one of the causes of hair loss)
turns out to be effective. Specific terpene properties include myrcene, pinene, and
terpinolene.
Corazon: Corazon is a strain combining ACDC and Charlotte's Web. The CBD levels
stand at 22% while the THC at 2.7%. Corazon has the highest levels of CBD content
among marijuana strains. If you take the notion that a prominent level of CBD is good for
the prevention of hair loss, then you can use Corazon. Specific terpene properties include
Myrcene.
Valentine X: The common version of Valentine X has a CBD content of 18% with small
levels of THC. This is a potent strain and quick pain-relieving sativa strain, which only
needs a couple of hits to work. The sense of trangquility is not as overwhelming, but it
creates a distance between your pain and memory, thus reducing inflammation. Specific
terpene properties include Myrcene.
Cannotonic: Cannotonic is popular among all the strains in this category. It has a CBD
content of more than 12%, and it is a vital compound mixed in a bong to create pain-
relieving medicine. Cannotonic is a mixture of G-13 Haze, and MK Ultra and it is a
readily available marijuana strain. Specific terpene properties include Myrcene.
Sour Diesel: Sour Diesel handles bringing Sativa back to the cannabis market. It has an
overpowering scent and taste with a diesel-like taste, which is hard to stay away from.
Sour Diesel is a mixture of Chemdawg and Super Skunk. Specific terpene properties
include Caryophyllene.
Sour cookies: Is a blend of girl scout cookies and sour diesel which helps in preventing
hair loss. Specific terpene properties include Caryophyllene, Limonene, Myrcene.
Cannabis Exclusively for Hair Growth
(Studies Below have been conducted by both The University of Debrecen
and Amsterdam)
Another cannabis constituent that has been studied for its effect on hair is marijuana. Although earlier research showed that THC could help prevent hair loss and improve hair health, it has recently been found to have quite the opposite effect. Results have not yet been published, and more research needs to be conducted, but below are some theories on how marijuana is linked to hair loss.
It Causes Hormonal Changes: Those likely to experience hair loss have a condition known as Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA). AGA is caused by a sensitivity to DHT, a hormone produced when an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase attaches to testosterone. For those with AGA, normal levels of DHT trigger responses in sensitive hair follicles that lead to hair miniaturization and loss. Studies have shown that marijuana can reduce the levels of LH and FSH in the body, two hormones responsible for testosterone production. Less of these hormones means less testosterone and less DHT, which can lead to increased hair loss, as well as weight gain, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, anxiety, and depression.
It Slows Cell Production: the production of new cells plays a key role in hair growth. A 2007 study by researchers at the University of Debrecen found that endo and exo-cannabinoids inhibit the growth of human hair follicles. Exo-cannabinoids are cannabinoids introduced to the body, like THC. Both attach themselves to cannabinoid receptors to produce certain effects, one of which inhibits the proper development and growth of the human hair shaft by slowing cell production to induce hair loss.
It Increases Stress: Most people look to THC to decrease stress. However, the truth is, THC actually increases cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone produced in the human body during periods of stress. Increased cortisol can induce a condition known as telogen effluvium. Telogen effluvium occurs when hair follicles enter the third cycle of hair growth, the telogen or resting phase, prematurely. This can be due to hormone changes, stress, injury, and more. Telogen effluvium is usually a temporary condition that goes away once the stressor is removed. However, with ongoing use of THC, the condition can continue indefinitely.
More Research Required: Of course, more research is needed to prove that THC may be an agent that promotes hair loss and counter evidence has been found as well. For instance, in the case of cortisol production, many say that while THC can promote the hormone's production, the effect may wear off in frequent users who build up a tolerance. Other studies have figured out that THC can be beneficial in hair loss due to its ability to stop the development of DHT, which is known to inhibit hair growth by binding to hair follicle receptors. Clearly, there is room for debate when considering the effects of THC and hair loss. Concerned users are recommended paying close attention to research while using responsibly.
Using Hemp and CBD to Improve Hair Health
Both Hemp and CBD can be used to promote healthy hair growth. Both Hemp and CBD oil is
heavy in proteins which is a juggernaut for hair growth. CBD is enriched with 21 amino acids all of which help nourish your hair follicles and strengthen them. Hemp comes in both powder and supplemental forms. Supplements can be taken directly or topically, and powders can be added to food and smoothies for easy ingestion. Similarly, CBD can be taken as a capsule, oil, edible, vaped, or in raw flower form.
Taking Hemp and CBD orally may supply many health benefits and improve your hair as a side effect. But if you're really targeting your hair health, it is best to apply these products directly in smaller amounts to not overwhelm your CB1 and CB2 receptors in your hair follicles. While you
could apply Hemp or CBD oil directly to your hair, most bottles will barely cover even a small
select section. Don't waste your Hemp or CBD oil trying. There are several hemp or CBD
shampoos, conditioners, and other hair products available on the market. Using these are
recommended as the best way to reap the benefits of cannabis when it comes to hair health and growth. So, if you're looking for long luscious hair but your hair products just aren't cutting it, try some CBD or Hemp infused products to try to get your hair looking it's absolute best!
